Software Tips: Easy Data Entry |
Data Entry Shortcuts for
Weibull++ and
ALTA
- When entering complete and right-censored
(suspended) data, a positive number in the time column is treated as a
failure and a negative number is treated as a suspension. The application
automatically inserts the “F” or “S” into the “State F or S” column.
- For grouped data entry, if you leave the
“Number in Group” column blank, a “1” will be inserted automatically.
- You can copy/paste data from an Excel
spreadsheet or use the File Import Wizard (select Import from the
File
menu) to import data from Excel or a delimited text file.
Time-Saving Shortcuts for
BlockSim
- The Active Block menu at the bottom of the
Block Properties window allows you save any changes to the current block
and display the properties of another block without closing and opening
each window.
- You can apply the properties of a selected
Template block to all blocks with the same name or part number that exist
in the current project’s Diagram Sheets and Templates. Select the Template
block then select Global Update by Name or Global Update by Part Number
from the Block menu or shortcut menu.
- Changes that you make in the Block
Properties or Block Style window will be applied to all currently selected
blocks. To select multiple blocks, drag a box around a group of blocks or
press Ctrl while clicking each block.
Data Entry Tips for
RGA
- If you are using the Crow Extended model,
you can enter the Classification and Mode data together in the
Classification column (e.g. BC1) and then select Parse Modes from
the Data menu to separate the Classification (e.g. BC) from the
Mode (e.g. 1).
- The Advanced System View (select Advanced
System View from the View menu) provides an alternative interface for
entering data for multiple systems. This provides a separate spreadsheet
for each system in the analysis to simplify data entry.
Easy Data Entry Techniques for
Xfmea
- You can import system configuration data (e.g.
Bill of Materials) and FMEA data from Excel spreadsheets. The required
import templates are installed in the “Examples” folder in the application
directory. To import system configuration data, select Import Items from
the Project menu. To import FMEA data, select Import/Export Item’s FMEA
from the System Hierarchy menu.
- The Select Existing utility is available
for every text field within Xfmea. It allows you to search for and re-use
text from an existing analysis or phrase set. To access, click the icon on
the right side of the description field.
