In this issue, we are pleased to present three articles that describe combined applications of multiple reliability analysis techniques in order to accomplish specific objectives. This begins with a high level overview of the entire Design for Reliability (DFR) process and the variety of tools and techniques that may be employed together to assure the reliability of a new product design. We also present an example that uses a combination of LDA, QALT and RBD modeling techniques to more realistically analyze seasonal effects in warranty data. Finally, we present an example that uses LDA, QALT and stochastic event simulation techniques to predict the reliability for a new crankshaft design that is subject to fatigue failures.
